Sangiovese, Le Ragnaie, Brunello di Montalcino

This is a very elegant and perfumed expression of Sangiovese with lifted floral aromas that recall blue flower and dried wild rose. Beyond those delicate tones, you get cherry, cassis, strawberry, cedar, stone dust, and wet earth. The symmetry here is impeccable, as is its purity of fruit, with fine-grained, dusty tannins that result in a structured finale. All wines are bottled unfiltered and certified organic in the vineyards and cellar.

Le Ragnaie winery extends over 28 hectres in the county of Montalcino which is located in the Province of Siena. The land is cultivated with vines and olive groves and they follow the guidelines for Organic Agriculture. The vineyards are divided into three distinct parcels of land throughout Montalcino which allows us to produce three diverse 'terroirs' of Brunello. The Le Ragnaie Vineyard that this Sangiovese is grown is located in the central zone of Montalcino. The vines here enjoy the highest elevation of any vineyard in Montalcino.
