Pinot d'Alsace, Marcel Deiss

The Marcel Deiss winery is located in the town of Bergheim and is considered to be one of the best winemakers in Alsace. Each of their products are made through promoting the character of the terroir over that of the variety. Every one of the denomination’s varieties are represented across the 20 hectares of vineyards that are biodynamically cultivated. This means they produce a wide range of products that express the individuality of each terroir. Marcel Deiss Pinot D'Alsace comes from low-yield strains with an average age of 40 years and planted mainly in the large Bergheim terroir. They practice organic farming and use organic and biodynamic treatments (Ecocert and Demeter certificate). The harvest is carried out by hand when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
