White Cuvée Blend, Weingut Wolf 'Cuvée Kurt'
Born into a generations-old winemaking family, Dennis Wolf left home curious about all that the viticultural world could offer. His first flash of inspiration came in 2012 at Domaine de l’Horizon, where he—a salesman for Stockinger barrels at the time—tasted and chatted daily with Thomas Teibert. It was then that his passion for winemaking and its tradition in France was awakened. When Dennis Wolf took over the family farm and winery in 2018 he immediately transitioned to Biodynmic farming practices.
Cuvée Kurt is a blend of 8 different varieties. Riesling, Weissburgunder, Chardonnay, Kerner, Muskateller, Scheurebe , Grauburgunder and Silvaner, with some of the grapes fermented as an orange wine.
As a partly naturally petilant/sparkling wine, this has been bottled before the primary fermentation is complete, so the fermentation process continues in the bottle to produce a natural spritz.
Slightly cloudy with an orangey-pink hue. A delicate spritz. Flavours of green apple, white peach, unripe melon give the mouth a blast of freshness whilst a touch of biscuit character adds complexity. Much cleaner and less funky than you would expect from a Pet Nat/ orange wine.
